about gav

philosophies

Gav’s philosophies all centre around the word ‘Yes’. The Yes Project, encompassing all of Gav’s work, beliefs and facilitations, stems from this simple word. If we say yes to as much as we can, whenever we can, without knowing the result, we will inevitably be gifted with horizons we would never have seen, much less worked towards. If we say yes to new opportunities, ideas, theories and possibilities, new worlds will open up for us and take us to places we never knew existed.

As an interdisciplinary artist, Gav places great value in the relationships between art and artist, as well as that between art, artist, community and viewers. Throughout his career, Gav has worked with fellow artists, visionaries, festivals and corporations - as a brief snapshot - spreading his message of love and creativity across the globe. Being dyslexic, Gav has a unique view on the world and how our actions and thoughts are interconnected, a belief which he expresses through his skills across the disciplines. Many of Gav’s works encourage us as an audience to look beyond what we perceive with the naked eye and to delve deeper into what makes up the world… and of what we ourselves are made.

Through his training as a yoga teacher and in somatic practice, as well as his 50 years in the arts, Gav has learnt the cruciality of feeling truly and deeply, expressing our emotions through dance, art and creation, and ultimately saying ‘Yes’ to as much as we can.
