School Project - colour the world

The transformation of plastic tree guards into a community engagement program that sees children share their paintings, words, expressions and creativity.

Tree Guard 2013

For this project, Gav supplied tree guards and paint packs to primary schools across Australia. ‘Colour the World’ is based on a cross-disciplinarian subject engagement throughout schools and communities, encouraging children and teachers to intermix environmental studies, art, biology, literature, community engagement, mindfulness and school team spirit - just like how cross-pollination allows the world to flourish, mixing disciplines allows creativity to spread and grow. ‘Colour the World’ also aims to turn the act of tree planting and rejuvenation from a drab landscape of plastic into a lively display of public art.
