radical fields street activation

Daylesford, November 2024.

Along the main street in Daylesford, our Radical Fields collective gathered to ask the question “What is art?”. As interdisciplinary artists, creators and curators ourselves, we often bypass such as essential yet unlimited question, preferring instead to analyse art and creation with a critical lens.

Our question was carefully painted on the window of 45 Vincent Street by Gav while passers-by were invited to write their answers and thoughts around our question. The engagement with the Daylesford and surrounding communities was enthusiastic and wide-spread; responses to our question included joy, inspiration, primal, cathartic and chaotic.
